"MS"

Having never been in control of a motorcycle before, it was love at first sight.  When my son came home riding a Bourget custom Fat Daddy - I knew my life as I knew it was about to change forever!  I just had to learn to ride and get my own.  Now, I've hung a sign on my front door that reads, "DANGER" ....this area under quarantine due to motorcycle fever".  The answer to all of life's ups and downs has become 'screw it lets ride'.  So, I found fearless women of the 21st century ......."The Women In The Wind".

"Paisley" Lisa Gambino, Web Goddess

What can I say?  I have loved motorcycles from as far back as I can remember.  As a little girl (imagine that), I had this little Evel Knievel wind up motorcycle toy that I would wind up real good and let it rip down the sidewalk on the city streets I grew up on.  My father and I watched every jump that Evel Knievel made and now it is just a distant memory from a long time ago.  Then in my 20's, one of my important goals was to learn to ride and buy a motorcycle and I accomplished this in 1994.  It is probably my greatest accomplishment ever and I love it!  I have been riding and riding and I also always wanted to join "Women In The Wind", so there is another accomplishment.
My Ride is a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 800!  Contact me:  lisag@a2zcomputerhelp.com

"Wingz" Membership Coordinator

My ride is a Honda Shadow Aero 2006.  Have been riding since I was twelve in the dirt and on the road with a license since I was seventeen.  That was in 1973.  I am 54 years young.  I am the mother of two wonderful boys.  My first love of my life was riding a Motorcycle...Even threw Dislocating my arm on the dirt bike to getting waffled by a car on my new motorcycle.  They broke my bones but didn't brake my "WINGZ".  I hope to be riding the rest of my life.  I also love dogs as you can see in my pic - my abused, afraid of everything, rescued, Yorkie - riding with me.  But, not any more, she loves to ride with me.  I have found a great bunch of sisters in joining the WOMEN IN THE WIND.  We laugh a lot and always have a great time.

"Skidz" Sargeant At Arms

I'm living a dream!  Always in love with the idea of motorcycle riding and after 25 years in the grueling business of restaurant work, I decided the time was now!  I am a very proud mother of a 17 year old young man who just joined the Army Reserves and a 15 year old fun loving young woman.  Married to a wonderful man named Bill who shares the love of the road.  I look forward to many future adventures as a Woman In The Wind and exploring this great country!

"Pipes"

My road name is Pipes because I sing, not because my bike's loud (it isn't!). My new ride is a 2008 Harley Heritage Softail in Pacific Blue.  My husband, Glen recently asked me what I tell people about how I came to ride my own motorcycle.  I say that I played the "what if" game (this is also how I ended up being an EMT for 12 years!).  What if Glen and I were on his bike and he became sick or otherwise incapacitated?  What would I do?  Well, now I would get on the bike and get us both home!  I have to say, I LOVED riding pillion, I completely trust Glen's riding and I really liked getting close and hugging him as we rode - it was a bit of a sacrifice to give it up at first.  But, ya know?  It's FUN to ride on your own!  I've been riding for almost five years now and I just love it!  Glen's still my favorite riding partner, but now I have my girls (or my "gang" as the guys at work like to tease!  Well, we do have colors......)!  I'm originally from the Trenton area and spent summers at our shore house on the beach in Barnegat.  Glen and I have been married for 20 years, no kids but two ginormous Maine coon cats!  My current hobbies, besides riding, are reading, singing in a local choir, gardening, boating, clamming  (well, I DO live at the shore) and driving Glen crazy!  I'm so happy being a part of Women in the Wind, especially the Shore Riders Chapter.  We rock!

"Slimm"

Picture
Ride it Like you Stole it!  My rode name is "Slimm" and I ride a 2002 Fatboy stripped down to the bare essentials.  The bike is not good for long rides but I look good as hell on it.  Got the bug for riding from my dad, because as a kid he rode me on the back of his bike.  I'M a DINK (double income NO kids).  I enjoy riding with the WITW!

"Girlie"

Picture
I started riding in August of 2008.  My current ride is a Kawasaki 750.  I'm married to a wonderful man and have two terrific sons.  Although I enjoy riding with hubby I longed for some female riding mates and met some of the girls from WITW, Shore Riders Chapter.  I knew I had found what I needed.  My love for riding grows with each new adventure.

"Panik"

Picture
Hi! My name is Panik. I’m 54 years old (I can’t believe how old it makes you feel when you put on paper) and am currently trying to start my own business-entrepreneur-that sounds better. I am married to Rudy, a very patient and kindhearted man, who is a marine mechanic. I am mother to three great kids-where did I go wrong? Dawn (37) is an independent, beautiful woman (go ahead with you bad self) and is going to whip me into shape, even if it kills both of us. Shawn (33) is the owner of ‘Gardens by the Sea’, a landscape company. He is an extremely hardworking and determined man who could make the rest of us stop complaining about our little aches and pains. Jake (21) attends Richard Stockton State College (law enforcement) while holding down a full-time job. Three beautiful granddaughters Katie (11), Emily (5) and Isabelle (2) round out the human side of the family. There are also 5 hairier children. Axl, a 9 years old English Mastiff, Wahoo, a 5 year old Lab mix, Sophie, a 4 year old Pomeranian and 2 cats, Rosie 13 and Spot 9. Being able to ride on my motorcycle gives me a chance to escape from all the wonderful things I have listed above (especially my age). Honestly, the time I spend on my bike and with my WITW sisters are some of my most relaxing stress free hours. Nothing beats having the wind in your face, the smell of blooming flowers and trees, and bugs in your teeth.

"Cheerz"

Picture
My name is Yvette "Cheerz" Blanchard.  I am part owner of an all-star cheerleading gym in West Creek, NJ I spend alot of my time focusing on my business.  When I have free time I enjoy riding my HD Sportster 1200 low.  I rode with my husband Chuck for many years and saw the female riding population increase.  I was intrigued by this and thought I should give it a try.  I enjoy the outdoors and what a great way to take it all in.  My husband and I try to plan one trip a year to a state HOG Rally.  My two daughters Jessica 18 and Jennifer 16 are already very busy and quite self sufficient so this is a wonderful pastime that Chuck and I can really enjoy at this time of our lives.  We are riding to Maine this summer it will be my longest ride and I am really looking forward to it.  We do alot of riding with our good friends Donna and Bill.  Donna introduced me to this great organization.  Riding with Women in the Wind is great!  I hope time will allow me to take part in more of the rides the group participates in.

"Pony"

Picture
My ride is a 2002 Fatboy.  When I decided to take to the streets on a motorcycle I enrolled in the Motorcycle Safety Course. Best thing I ever did as the only riding I did as a young girl was on dirt bikes and on the back of my brother’s bike. I advise anyone considering motorcycling to take the course. My other ride is furry with four legs, better known as a horse. Horses have always been a part of my life since I can remember. I reside in Mays Landing with my husband Jim and our dog River and the cat Gucci. I have a 38 year old son in law enforcement in central NJ who is also a biker.
Being a member/officer of WITW Shore Riders has been a very important part of my life.  These women gave me the confidence to ride and not to mention fantastic camaraderie.  We have lots of fun riding while employing only the safest riding practice. There is nothing better to relieve stress then to take a ride alone; feel the wind on your face, smelling the fresh air and be in control!
Now you know how I got the Road Name “Pony”.

"Tearz" Secretary

Picture
I'm Doris Jones, road name Tearz.  My ride is a 2005 Softail Deluxe.  I've been riding for 12+ years.  My husband encouraged me to learn to ride.  Started on a '76 Shovelhead, rode a 2000 Fatboy till my husband took it back!  Rode a 2002 Softail Duece for three years before getting my Deluxe.  I've been married for more than 30 years.  He hasn't bored me yet and he still makes me laugh.  I have 2 grown children, a daughter and a son.  I also have 3 granddaughters, 2 of them (cousins) born on the same day!
I've ridden to Laconia NH twice, and down Skyline Drive twice. I've ridden Rt 6 in PA and this summer I fulfilled a long time dream and rode out to Colorado.  I am a new member of WITW and have been having a blast since I joined.  Be careful riding with me because happiness, emotions and memories may bring Tearz!
